Although most of its work has focused on Canada-US Transboundary Water Issues, since its formation in 2001, POWI has been asked to conduct research on some other important water-related issues. This includes research on:

  • Governance: the potential restructuring of water utilities in Ontario, governance implications of restructuring, and potential business models; and
  • Groundwater: groundwater in North America, including existing and future threats to the resource, barriers to improved management of the resource and how those barriers can be overcome.
